Terms of service

These terms cover the rules of the road for using Sable. They're written in plain language on purpose — if anything is unclear, email us.

Last updated July 8, 2026

Acceptance

By creating a Sable account, connecting a Resend domain, or otherwise using the Sable app or website (together, the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service and to the Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, don’t use the Service.

Your account

  • You must be at least 13 years old to use Sable, and old enough in your jurisdiction to form a binding contract.
  • You’re responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your account credentials safe.
  • You’re responsible for activity that happens under your account, including the Resend API keys you connect.

Resend and third parties

Sable is a client that reads mail from domains you own on Resend. Resend is a separate company with its own terms and privacy policy. You need a Resend account and a Full Access API key to use Sable, and your use of Resend is governed by Resend’s own terms.

Sable also relies on other subprocessors (hosting, object storage, and — only if you turn AI summaries on — an LLM provider). The full list is on the privacy page. We’re responsible for choosing responsible providers; we’re not responsible for outages or actions by those providers outside our control.

Acceptable use

Don’t use Sable to:

  • Access domains or Resend accounts you don’t have permission to use.
  • Send, store, or process content that is illegal, defamatory, or violates someone else’s rights.
  • Attempt to break, overload, reverse engineer, or interfere with the Service or its infrastructure.
  • Use the Service to build a competing product by scraping or replicating it.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, especially if the violation risks other users or third-party services we depend on.

Your content

Your mail is yours. You keep all rights to the content that flows through Sable. You grant us a limited license to store, transmit, index, compress, decompress, and display that content strictly to operate the Service for you. That license ends when you delete the content or your account.

AI features

AI-generated summaries are provided as-is and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date. Don’t rely on a summary as a substitute for reading a message when the message actually matters (payments, legal notices, security alerts). Summaries are opt-in; you can turn them off per account or per domain at any time.

Fees and subscriptions

If Sable offers paid plans, prices, billing cycles, and refund rules will be shown before you subscribe. Subscriptions purchased through the Apple App Store are managed by Apple and refund requests go to Apple.

Termination

You can stop using Sable and delete your account at any time from Settings → Privacy & data → Delete account. Deletion is honored per the privacy policy. We may suspend or terminate accounts for the reasons in Acceptable use or if we’re required to by law.

Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sable disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don’t warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will meet every requirement you have.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sable will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising from these terms or the Service is limited to the amount you paid Sable in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or CAD $50, whichever is greater.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be brought in the courts located in Ontario, Canada, except where mandatory local consumer law says otherwise.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product evolves. If we make a material change, we’ll update this page and the “last updated” date at the top. Continued use of the Service after the effective date means you accept the update.
